The Hague:

The spouse of Dutch ambassador to Lebanon Jan Waltmans has died of wounds sustained within the Beirut bomb explosion, the Netherlands’ international ministry mentioned Saturday.

“It’s with dismay and nice disappointment that we report the dying of our colleague Hedwig Waltmans-Molier. She succumbed to accidents sustained within the large explosion in Beirut,” a ministry assertion mentioned.

Waltmans-Molier was hit by particles from the explosion shortly after returning again to Lebanon from vacation together with her husband of 38 years.

“Hedwig was standing in her front room subsequent to her husband when she was hit, sheerly by dangerous lack, by the explosion,” the ministry mentioned.

The 55-year-old was the one Dutch citizen reported to have died from the explosion that rocket Beirut on Tuesday, killing a minimum of 154 and devastating swathes of the capital.

5 different Dutch residents had been barely injured, the ministry mentioned.
