DGCI detects evasion of GST price over Rs 108 cr by 2 liquor producers in Maharashtra



NAGPUR: The Directorate Basic of Items and Providers Tax Intelligence (DGGI) has discovered alleged evasion of GST collectively price over Rs 108 crore by two liquor producers in Aurangabad and Nanded districts of Maharashtra.

The DGGI Nagpur zonal unit, in a press release issued on Friday, stated that tax evasion got here to mild following searches carried out on July 28 and 29 on the two liquor manufacturing items.

“The searches revealed that whereas the taxpayers have been paying GST on part of the clearances of alcohols not suitable for eating, the clearances of a particularly giant amount of alcohols not suitable for eating have been suppressed and such clearances have been neither being mirrored within the GSTR 3B returns filed by them nor was any GST being paid on such clearances,” it stated.

The entire quantity payable by them underneath Rule 6 of the CENVAT Credit score Guidelines, 2004 is estimated to be Rs 5 crore.
