Artwork in an apocalypse – ht weekend

Ever since Covid-19 restrictions had been imposed in March, I’ve missed seeing and doing issues I get pleasure from within the metropolis. Folks-watching, cab rides, the normalcy of social interactions at eating places, cafés, outlets, the quick tempo of the metropolis – they’re elements important to my artwork apply. It has been an uninspiring time. Like everybody else, I’ve felt like I used to be in the course of an apocalypse, listening to about pure disasters, man-made disasters, blasts, politics fuelled by faith and God is aware of what else.

I’ve felt largely dysfunctional via the previous couple of months. And I’ve turned my eye to things and issues at residence that I’ve collected or purchased whereas travelling. I suppose it’s my method of trying again on higher instances. I gather totally different sorts of scissors; they’re very fascinating as a practical object and a bit of design. Two components should work collectively to be able to be of any use — like several good partnership.

One factor led to a different and I ended up drawing totally different variations of dysfunctional scissors: scissors that aren’t actually scissors. The drawings make one really feel uncomfortable and helpless the way in which I’ve felt dysfunctional via the pandemic.
